Loti's Mainland- A Tale of Trenches and Expenses

Loti, a multi-genre artist aka Rnbboy aka Gorimapa Gangsta based in Lagos has served us an anthem to remind us of our roots and a couple of trenches experiences as Mainlanders.
Loti gives us solid life advice in the opening lines of this song, something anyone from the mainland can definitely relate to. If you Jonze, na sidelines you go find yourself not Adeniyi Jones.

Loti is 2k richer than Majeeed o. Mad o! He has 12k but needs some loud for creativity which will also require the strength from within to motivate the body to work without- Chow (food). He also looks up to his money doubler,  betnaija for some odds to multiply his change after loud and Rice with that tasty fried 400 naira chicken(don't ask me how I know his favorite food). I guess that's because I'm also from the Mainland.


There's something about the chorus that I can't seem to shake off my head. "I'm from the mainland,  me I just dey hustle for the paper. I'm from the mainland, I know say I ghetto but na real life". It keeps replaying and at the same time gives this reassurance of better days despite the hustle and bustle we face every day, ever-rising prices of goods and services. One credit alert, 69 debits🤧. This track has the potential to become the Mainland hustlers' anthem/creed. 

The Gorimapa gangster keeps reassuring us that today's anxieties will be resolved in due time because bad as e bad we go make am. He encourages us to get angry and put in more zeal to exit the trenches because if you no hold, them go switch like Benson.

This track has a high replay value. If you're doubting, set your crossfade to 2 secs on your music streaming app and you'll find yourself chanting "I'm from the mainland... I know say I ghetto but na real life" in no time.  Even though  Loti didn't disclose his hood on the mainland in the song, I was able to help us find out using my Sherlock Holmes abilities. Say no more fam😎

Majeeed’s Bittersweet EP: A Blend of Black Coffee and Fermented Sugarcane Juice (Rum)

This helps you relax into the mood the sensational singer wants you to feel.  On the first track -" How I care ", Majeed sings out the words of affirmation expressed to him by his lover, declaring the choice of language they've chosen to display deep affection towards him. I've found solace in myself and the idea of living, yes this is what I want.  I've received the promises and seen visions of what lies ahead. A drop in the ocean, a glimpse into the future; awaiting the day it comes to fruition  How, when, and where? These thoughts cloud my head Don't miss the signs he says, that's your mission.  I open my ears and pray with my eyes open to see clearly, But I think I've clogged my tear ducts. Hence, the reason for these eye aches. I've listened too keenly, my ears are flooded with wax. Need to open the floodgates as soon as possible,  Need a break from everything.  A journey into a mental trance.
